Rob Dibble is a graduate of Southington High School and grew up in the town. Dibble pitched in the Major Leagues from 1988 until 1995. He was an All-Star in 1990 and 1991. In 1990 Dibble helped led the Reds to a World Series championship and shared the National League Championship Series Most Valuable Player award with fellow pitcher Randy Myers.
