Kicker John Carney has enjoyed one of the longest and most successful tenures at his position in the NFL, having been in the league since 1987. Carney has made the fourth-most field goals of all time and is second actively to Baltimore Ravens kicker Matt Stover. He also has scored the fourth-most points all time and is just 48 points away from taking sole possession of third on that list. He has been named to the Pro Bowl twice in his career (1994, 2008) and was a First-Team All-Pro selection in 1994 with the San Diego Chargers. Carney was born in Hartford, but moved to Florida where he attended Cardinal Newman High School. He went to college at Notre Dame and was named by Sports Illustrated as part of Notre Dame's All-Time Team.
