New Haven's Douglas Lyons ('The Book of Mormon') Has New Recording

Douglas Lyons, a BFA musical theater grad of The Hartt School at the University of Hartford who went on to be in the cast of Broadway's "The Book of Mormon" and now "Beautiful: The Carole King Musical," has a new CD out.

The New Haven native is profesionally partnered with Ethan Pakchar, a NYC and Atlanta-based composer and musician, for the recording "#LOVE," an 11-song album released digitally Dec. 2.

They met while both were on the national tour of "The Book of Mormon," Lyons on stage and Pakchar a guitarist in the show's orchestra.

They describe their music as "a milkshake of theater, pop and r&b music."

Lyons also performed in national tours of "Rent"and "Dreamgirls" in Japan and at the Apollo Theatre in Harlem. He was also in the Hartford Stage production of "To Kill a Mockingbird" and the workshop of "Band Geeks" at Goodspeed Opera House in East Haddam

Pakchar, an NYU grad, was also in the orchestra for "Newsies" and "Wicked." He is currently playing in the national tour of "The Book of Mormon."

To celebrate the release, they will perform in concert Monday, Dec. 9 at Rockwood Music Hal;, 196 Allen St., New York City. Information:
