11 Connecticut Arts Groups Receive $420,000 In NEA Grants

Connecticut arts groups will receive 11 grants totaling $440,000 from the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) $26.3 million in grants to nonprofit national, regional, state, and local organizations nationwide.

The grants support projects in 13 artistic fields: arts education, dance, design, folk and traditional arts, literature, local arts agencies, media arts, museums, music, opera, presenting, theater and musical theater and visual arts.

Connecicut's grants go to:  

New Haven's Yale University Art Gallery ($80,000); Westport's Hartley Film Foundation ($65,000); Hartford's Institute for Community Research Inc. ($75,000); New Haven's International Festival of Arts & Ideas ($65,000); New Britain's Museum of American Art ($40,000); Washington Depot'sPilobolus ($30,000); New Haven's Music Haven (25,000); New Haven Symphony Orchestra ($20,000); New Havn's Architectural Resource Center ($10,000); New Haven's Elm Shakespeare Company($10,000).
