Miley Cyrus

False reports surfaced on the Internet in early September 2008 that Miley Cyrus had died in a hit-and-run accident on her way to the "Hannah Montana" set. Fortunately for tween pop fans everywhere, the story was bogus. A false Reuters article spread around the web claiming that Miley Cyrus had died in a terrible car accident. This incident, which was also reported by TMZ, was quickly debunked, as Miley performed in concert the following Friday. A similar incident took place in November 2008, when someone hacked into Cyrus' YouTube account and posted a video stating she died after being hit by a drunk driver.
