Michael Wilson To Direct "Talley's Folly" In New York

“The Best Man,” the hit revival of the Gore Vidal play may have ended its limited Broadway run last Sunday but Michael Wilson, former artistic director at Hartford Stage who staged the work, has another New York gig.

 Wilson will direct a revival of Lanford Wilson’s Pulitzer Prize winning play, “Talley’s Folly” for the Roundabout Theatre Company. The two-actor play, will begin previews Feb. 8 and open March 5 at off-Broadway’s Laura Pels Theatre in the Harold and Mirian Steinberg Center for Theatre on 111 W. 46th St.

 No casting or design team has yet been announced.

 But first Wilson will direct the American premiere of Christopher Shinn’s “Now or Later” at Boston’s Huntington Theatre Company in October. Shinn is the Hartfrd-born, Wethersfield-raised writer known for his insightful plays “Four,” “What Didn’t Happen,” “Picked” and his Pulitzer Prize finalist, “Dying City.”

 “Now Or Later,” which was acclaimed when it premiered in London four years ago, centers on a presidential election and a revelation about the gay son of one of the candidates.
