J.McLaughlin, a clothing chain based in New York City, will open a store in West Hartford Center July 18.
The store, which sells clothing for both men and women, as well as accessories, offers button-down shirts that cost about $150 and dresses around $200.
The store will be located at 981 Farmington Ave., in space between lululemon and Grant's that used to be Sev Shak, another clothing store. The listing for the space said the landlord would only consider goods stores, not a service provider or a restaurant.
Once the store opens, J. McLaughlin will have 83 stores, including five in Connecticut.
"J.McLaughlin is thrilled to be opening our West Hartford store. Connecticut has been good to our brand and expanding to the central part of the state seemed like a natural move," said Jay McLaughlin, co founder of the company in 1977 with his brother Kevin on the Upper East Side.Copyright © 2015, The Baltimore Sun
