Martha Coolidge (born August 17, 1946)

Coolidge is a director of film and television who has directed such films as Real Genius and Rambling Rose, according to the <a href="http://articles.courant.com/1993-05-14/features/0000102079_1_robert-tilton-coolidge-1985-s-real-genius-rambling-rose">Hartford Courant</a>.  In 2002 she became the first woman elected president of the Directors Guild of America. While president, she spoke out against the shortage of females working behind the camera.  Coolidge was born in New Haven.
