Two police officers were promoted recently to sergeant.
Officers Stephen Bresciano and Jamie Taylor were promoted on March 15, the police department announced Thursday.
Bresciano, who was hired in 1997, was a field training officer and traffic unit member and also serves on the Capital Region Emergency Services Team. Bresciano "has received numerous accolades from the general public as well as earning the medal of valor for his actions during the Hartford Distributors shootings in 2010," according to a news release.
Taylor was hired in 2005 after working at both the East Hampton and South Windsor police departments. He was a field training officer and was previously assigned to the department's downtown Police Area Representatives Unit. Taylor has received numerous letters of thanks from citizens, along with the department's medal of valor, distinguished service unit citations and a life saving award.Copyright © 2015, The Baltimore Sun
