Kyle Vinales tweeted the following Sunday night: "Jus committed to the University of Toledo #gorockets"
So Vinales, who last month decided to transfer after two seasons of prolific scoring at Central Connecticut, has found his new home.
Vinales said his decision to transfer from Central had to do with his desire to participate in the NCAA Tournament. The Blue Devils had losing records in each of his two seasons.
Toledo was 15-13 last season (10-6 and tied for first in the West Division of the Mid-American Conference) but was ineligible for postseason play due to academics. In 2011-12, Toledo was 19-17, losing in the second round of the CIT to Robert Morris.
Toledo last made the NCAA Tournament in 1980 but has a lot of talent returning over the next two years. Vinales will have to sit out the 2013-14 season. He has two years of eligibility remaining.Copyright © 2015, The Baltimore Sun
