Ted Mikulski, Enfield

Enfield resident Ted Mikulski painted this week's cover art titled "Crows." It was inspired by "the beauty and chaos of a group of crows," he says. Mikulski grew up in Rocky Hill and attended Norwich University to study architecture. He earned his master's degree in architecture and opened up a web design company. He now teaches part-time at Tunxis Community College and designs "virtual architecture in metaverse space." "I have only recently come into a style I feel comfortable with while painting," he says. "I began with pop art and evolved into abstract modernism. I like large canvases, which allow me to be more free with the paint and express an overall concept. I use a combination of latex, acrylic, oil and spray paint to achieve various effects."
