Joan Roberts, president of the Suffield Arts Council, shot the photograph of a barn on this week’s iTOWNS cover. Roberts, who recently moved to West Simsbury, has been interested in photography from a very early age. It wasn’t until her college years at Mount Holyoke College that she began to really develop her art. Roberts, a Holyoke native, started a photography business, Joan’s Photos, in 1994, shortly after moving to Connecticut. Her photography business concentrated on photographing Connecticut sceneries and weddings. She has worked in the information technology department of ALSTOM Power Inc. in Windsor as a systems analyst for nearly 20 years.
