Janine Janaki, Middletown

I have been an artist for as long as I can remember. An artist is a way of being in the world, where creativity cannot help but spill forth, be it word or paint or thought. I use all of these media. My current paintbrush is pastel. I begin with a photograph, using it as a point of departure. On the blank page I move the colors and textures that hide in the depths of the camera image. I disappear into the realm of infinity, where anything is possible. Time goes away. The finished work is my biography, past, present and future.
