The Hartford Courant

A 24-year-old Bloomfield man has become Hartford's 19th homicide victim of the year.

Jepther White, of Gilbert Avenue in Bloomfield, was found Tuesday night, shot in the head in a parked car in the city's South End.

No motive had been established by Wednesday afternoon, police said.

Officers found White about 8:30 p.m. Tuesday in a car parked behind a condominium at 356 Wethersfield Ave., near Bulkeley High School.

They called paramedics, who attempted to revive White, but he died at Hartford Hospital.

An anonymous caller reported the sound of gunfire to police. When police got to the area, someone directed them to the parking area where White was found.

Police are looking for witnesses, and they asked anyone with information about the incident to contact them.

Sgt. Robert Davis of the Hartford Police Department's major crimes division may be reached at 860-757-4256. Police are also accepting confidential tips on its crime solvers telephone hot line at 860-527-8477.
