One man died and another was wounded in the leg in apparently related shootings early Saturday in Hartford's Parkville Section, police said.
Police identified the dead man as Efrain Rodriguez, 30, of Avon.
They said that the other man, Jonathan Serrano, 19, of Hartford, suffered a non-life-threatening wound.
Officer Joseph Walsh was in the area of 1995 Park St. when he heard numerous gunshots at 1:42 a.m., police said. He investigated and found Serrano wounded and bleeding.
Police said that residents of the area directed Walsh to Rodriguez, who was in the parking lot at 1995 Park St. The lot is behind the Mibar Sports Cafe!, a bar near Dorothy Street.
Rodriguez was pronounced dead at St. Francis Hospital and Medical Center at 2:04 a.m., police said. Serrano was taken to Hartford Hospital for treatment.
Police released no further information about the circumstances of the shootings.
Metal security gates closed off Mibar's windows on Saturday afternoon, and its phone was not answered. An apparent bullet hole was visible in one window, just beneath a Budweiser sign, but police could not confirm whether it happened during the Saturday morning shooting.
Workers at a small Vietnamese restaurant next door said they did not know anything about the shootings.
