Stanley has his Stella in the Yale Repertory Theatre production of Tennessee Williams' "A Streetcar Named Desire."
Sarah Sokolovic will play Stella Kowalski opposite Joe Manganiello's Stanley in the production which plays Sept. 20 to Oct. 12 at the University Theatre in New Haven.
Sokolvic was the breakout star in off-Broadway's "Detroit." She was in "Romeo and Juliet" at the Rep in 2011. She was also in off-Broadway's "The Shaggs: Philosophy of the World." She is a 2011 graduate of Yale School of Drama.
Mark Rucker directs the work which also stars Rene Augesen as Blanche DuBois.
The cast also includes Adam O’Byrne as Mitch. O'Byrne was in "The Winter's Tale," "You Never Can Tell," "The Black Monk" and "Medea/Macbeth/Cinderella" at the Rep. He is a graduate of Yale College and Yale School of Drama, where he was a part of the original cast of "The Intelligent Design of Jenny Chow."
His television and film credits include "Vegas," "The United States of Tara, "NCIS, and "Cold Case" and the webseries "Awkward Sunrise," the BravoFACT short"Everything Must Go" and the indie western "Dead Man's Burden."
Also cast are Phillip Christian, Nick Erkelens, Mercedes Herrero, Marc Damon Johnson, April Matthis, and Ken Ruta.
Opening Night is Thursday, Sept. 26.
