GLASTONBURY — Monaco Ford is hosting a clothing drive to help children get ready for back-to-school.
The dealership is teaming up with Style Saves for an event on Sunday at Casona, 681 Wethersfield Ave. in Hartford. Style Saves will be helping 60 students from the Boys & Girls clubs and The Village get dressed for back-to-school. The dealership, located at 767 New London Turnpike, is accepting new and gently used clothes, shoes and accessories for students 6-18-years-old until Sunday.
Style Saves, based in Florida, raises funds for underprivileged students. The group works with local retail stores, designers and boutiques to provide these students with brand-new outfits for back-to-school. The group aims to "build confidence through clothes." The group said the hope is that the confidence "imbued in these students through their new outfits reflects on their academic work and personal lives."Copyright © 2014, The Baltimore Sun
