April: Notorious Crimes and Criminals

We'll reflect on the losses we've suffered and some of the changes we've made as a result. A look at crimes both heinous and intriguing. CAPTION: Connecticut's electric chair, last used to execute Joseph Taborsky on May 17th, 1960, is photographed in a storage bin at the Department of Correction Central Office in Wethersfield. The chair, now a relic of the past, was first used in 1937 and is remarkably intact right down to the helmet hanging on the seat back and the slippers in a bucket at right. There were 18 electrocutions in this chair, all done at the Wethersfield State Prison.
