The first game of the post-Samarie Walker era could expose problems in the post. Expect Geno Auriemma to experiment with his lineups depending on the situation. More emphasis will be placed on the production of Buck and Dixon. And there could be times when Moore plays the center in a lineup of guards.
Pat Coyle, the former coach of the WNBA's New York Liberty, is now an assistant on Pittsburgh's staff. She was a Liberty assistant beginning in 1998, then became head coach during the 2004 season after the departure of Richie Adubato. Coyle led the Liberty to the playoffs in 2004, 2005, 2007 and 2008, but never won the Eastern Conference championship. In 2009, the Liberty started 6-11 and on July 31 she was replaced by assistant Anne Donovan, now coach at Seton Hall.
Moore comes into the game with 2,600 career points. She needs 179 to tie Angel McCoughtry for most career points in Big East women's history. In case you are wondering, she is 33rd all-time in Division I.
