Brian Hutchison will play opposite Valerie Harper in the Matthew Lombardo play, "Looped" when the play comes to the Belding Theater at the Bushnell Center for the Performing Arts in Hartford Jan. 24 to Feb. 6
Both actors were in the 2010 Broadway production which earned Harper a Tony Award nomination for her performance as Tallulah Bankhead. Rob Ruggiero, interim director of Hartford's TheaterWorks, staged the Broadway production and again directs this production which will travel to Ft. Lauderdale and Baltimore. Other presenting houses are in talks for the show, says Ruggiero, who also staged Lombardo's "High" starring Kathleen Turner on Broadway.
He has performed in the Off-Broadway productions of From Up Here at the Manhattan Theatre Club; Mr. Marmalade at The Roundabout Theatre Company; People Be Heard at Playwright’s Horizons; The Hiding Place at The Atlantic Theatre Company and She Stoops To Conquer at Irish Rep. Regionally he has worked at Yale Rep, Huntington Theatre, Westport County Playhouse, Williamstown Theatre Festival, Barrington Stage, Bay Street Theatre and a host of others.
"Looped" is produced by Tony Cacciotti, Ann Cady Scott & The Tallulah Organization in association with The Pasadena Playhouse.
Performances at the Bushnell are Tuesdays through Thursdays at 7:30 p.m., Fridays at 8 p.m., Saturdays at 2 and 8 p.m., and Sundays at 1:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. Tickets are $32 to $57, not including fees.
