1968: Bobby Valentine Drafted By LA Dodgers

Bobby Valentine, born and raised in Stamford, was a baseball, football, basketball and track athlete at Rippowam High, but he pursued a career with the Los Angeles Dodgers after he was picked fifth overall in 1968. He played nine seasons with the Dodgers, Angels, Padres, Mets and Mariners, but he carved out a long managerial career with the Rangers, Mets, Red Sox and Chiba Lotte Marines.
