2005:Jim Calhoun was inducted into the Basketball Hall of Fame. 2006: UConn had four players selected in the first round (Rudy Gay, 8th, Rockets; Hilton Armstrong, 12th, Hornets; Marcus Williams, 22nd, Nets; Josh Boone, 23rd, Nets) and five picked overall, with Denham Brown going to Seattle at 40. 2006: Bulkeley (21-6) won the first girls basketball state title for a Hartford school when Patrice Simpson hit a 25-footer at the overtime buzzer to give Bulkeley a 43-42 victory over Farmington in the Class L state championship game March 11. 2006: The PGA Tour's annual tournament in Connecticut didn't have a title sponsor and appeared to be headed toward joining the Champions Tour or extinction in 2006.
