<B>2005:</B>Jim Calhoun was inducted into the Basketball Hall of Fame.

<B>2006:</B> UConn had four players selected in the first round (Rudy Gay, 8th, Rockets; Hilton Armstrong, 12th, Hornets; Marcus Williams, 22nd, Nets; Josh Boone, 23rd, Nets) and five picked overall, with Denham Brown going to Seattle at 40.

<B>2006:</b> Bulkeley (21-6) won the first girls basketball state title for a Hartford school when Patrice Simpson hit a 25-footer at the overtime buzzer to give Bulkeley a 43-42 victory over Farmington in the Class L state championship game  March 11.

<B>2006:</B> The PGA Tour's annual tournament in Connecticut didn't have a title sponsor and appeared to be headed toward joining the Champions Tour or extinction in 2006. But Travelers stepped forward to save it when the insurance company announced on April 11 that it would be the new title sponsor.
