Should elected officials be allowed to live in sin? One concerned citizen wants Hallandale Beach City Commissioner Keith London prosecuted for just that.
Linda Takahashi cited a little-enforced state statute that makes "cohabitation" of unmarried couples a second-degree misdemeanor punishable by $500 or up to 60 days in jail. On Friday, she implored City Attorney Lynn Whitfield to investigate.
London, who says he's in a committed eight-year relationship with his "partner and soul mate," declined to comment.
Takahashi was told to take up her complaint with the Broward State Attorney's Office.Copyright © 2015, The Baltimore Sun
