Retailer opens in West Palm Beach

G.H. Bass & Co. has opened its doors at the Palm Beach Outlets.

The fashion retailer is among the latest additions at the new outdoor shopping center in West Palm Beach. G.H. Bass & Co. sells footwear for men and women, including loafers, sandals, heels and boots.

The retailer also sells shoelaces, shoe care kits, shoe polish and other accessories. The store will be across from Rawlings.

Palm Beach Outlets is at 1751 Palm Beach Lakes Blvd.

Fitness center opens in Boca Raton

Dirt Fitness, a new fitness center, is now open in Boca Raton.

The 8,000-square-foot state-of-the-art training facility is at 7045 Berracasa Way.

Dirt Fitness offers 40-minute workouts using integrated resistance and cardio to burn about 700 calories.

Cupcakes and sweets retailer opens in Lake Worth

The Diva-Licious Cake House, a shop selling gourmet cupcakes, custom cakes and other sweet treats, is now open in Lake Worth.

The shop is at 7030 Charleston Shores Blvd.

The Diva-Licious Cake House also serves gourmet gelato and offers classes for those interested in learning about baking and cake decorating. The store sells cupcakes and cakes for special occasions.

Entertainment venue opens in Fort Lauderdale

Xtreme Bowling and Karting, "XBK Zone," is now open in Fort Lauderdale.

The venue has an indoor karting track where racers can go as fast as 45 mph in European gas-powered karts. The site also has an arcade room with more than 100 arcade games and simulators.

XBK Zone owners also plan to offer bowling lanes, multilevel laser tag and a restaurant serving shakes and burgers.

The entertainment venue can be booked for corporate events, birthday parties, school events and other special celebrations.

XBK is at 5300 Powerline Road.

Fitness center opening in Lauderdale Lakes

A Youfit Health Club is slated to be up and running by the end of month in Lauderdale Lakes.

The fitness center — the 12th in Broward County — will open at 3708 W. Oakland Park Blvd.

Youfit says its clubs are not for bodybuilders or "gym rats," but are geared to the average person. The company doesn't offer long-term contracts, members pay month-to-month.

The gym includes cardio equipment and low-impact equipment to increase strength and flexibility.

Restaurant opens in Pembroke Pines

Mikan Japanese Restaurant is now open in Pembroke Pines.

The restaurant is at 12502 Pines Blvd. It's menu includes sushi and sashimi combinations, chicken, salmon and beef teriyaki, noodles and rice dishes.

Mikan also serves wines by the glass and by the bottle, beers and sakes. The restaurant is open for lunch and dinner.
