Their story: The two were set up on a date on July 11, 2013, by a friend of Sara's who was also a friend of Danny's mother .

Sara said she was instantly drawn to Danny's "incredible smile and the way his eye's lit up at me."

"My first impression of Sara was that she was as beautiful and sweet in person as she sounded on the phone," Danny said.

The two live in Canton.

The proposal: Danny proposed to Sara on May 2, while Baltimore was under a state of emergency because of the unrest that broke out after the death of Freddie Gray.

The day was actually gorgeous and peaceful, Sara said.

"Danny took me for a beautiful walk along the harbor. His first attempt to propose was interrupted by my mother calling to check in on our safety," Sara recalled. "Forty minutes and three goodbyes later. she was finally off the phone."

Danny tried to pop the question a second time but was disrupted by a group of women who loudly told the couple how cute the two of them were together and asked them why they weren't married.

Danny finally found a place to propose — in private — along the water, where he dropped to one knee and asked Sara to marry him. Sara said she was speechless and broke into tears.

Later that night, Sara made Danny ask her again in their living room, so this time she could say the word "Yes."

Venue: The wedding and reception was held at the Four Seasons Hotel Baltimore; 155 people attended.

Flowers and decor: My Flower Box Events provided the flowers, which included white, blush and cream colors.

Furniture and decor accents were from White Glove Rentals, while Party Plus Tents + Events provided table linens and lighting.

Her dress: Sara wore a dress by Lihi Hod that she got through her bridal and events company.

Dessert stations had late-night snacks such as warm mini doughnuts.

Guests also received clear boxes filled with custom sweetheart candies that had "Sara & Danny," "February 13, 2016," "Traub Love," and heart emojis on them.
