Who will stop the rain and other wedding mishaps

I have attended many weddings and been in a few in the past couple years and have learned that sometimes -- when things go wrong -- you need to learn to go with the flow.

I understand that you have planned this big day for the past year or for multiple months so you want everything to go perfectly and as planned but sometimes it doesn’t always work out that way.

The biggest change of plans I have noticed in weddings is when the ceremony is planned to be outside and is switched indoors.  My best friend Layne got married last year on June 1 at Celebrations at the Bay. It was supposed to be an outdoor wedding but the weather was not going to cooperate, so it was moved inside. As much as my friend wanted it to be outside, she was completely calm with this change. Where many brides may have turned into a bridezilla and fussed about the change of plans, she knew it was out of her hands and there was really nothing she could do about it. The bottom line and the most important thing is that she got married and was happy.

The ceremony was just as beautiful and the rain helped create some awesome pictures later on.

That is just one scenario that could go wrong. There are multiple things that could happen and as a future bride I know I shouldn’t worry myself about what could go wrong but at the same time I need to prepare myself and realize that little things here and there will probably happen and I need to be easygoing with any changes. It’s also important for brides and grooms to remember why they are there in the first place.  Not just to have an amazing ceremony or a fun reception but to say vows and commit themselves to the love of their life.

The day will come and go, but in the end all that matters is how you feel about one another.
