I have been engaged for a month and a half and already I feel so accomplished in terms of my wedding planning. Everyone I talk to tells me how on top of things I am, and it’s so nice to hear because that is usually not me at all. When it comes to cleaning or school work I have always been the biggest procrastinator. I wonder now why I haven't been so organized with all aspects of life, but, then, let’s be real: Planning a wedding and my future with the love of my life is way more exciting than studying or vacuuming the house.
I also know how stressed I get when things get down to the wire, so I decided there is no way I am letting that happen to me. I know there will be stress in planning -- and I have experienced a tad bit so far -- but all in all this should be a pleasant and wonderful time, and I plan to keep it that way. In order to do this I had to get the ball rolling.
The first task was to find a venue. My fiancé, Keith, and I knew right away we wanted a spring (preferably May) wedding, so we didn’t want to waste any time. We found our venue and booked a date. Next, we decided on our entertainment and decided to go with a band. I found my dress a few weeks ago, and in the past week, we chose a photographer and a florist. We are moving right along and enjoying every minute of it. I hope to figure out our cake and invitations next, but there is still plenty of time for that.
In the meantime, I plan to appreciate my time with my future husband and embrace being a bridesmaid in two of my best friends' weddings. After all, there's no better way to get inspired than going to actual weddings!Copyright © 2015, The Baltimore Sun
