Whether you’re paying for your own wedding or your parents are paying for it, wedding expenses can add up very quickly. It’s very important to sit back and think about what is a priority for you. Obviously there are things you don’t want to cheap out on, and then there are things that you may be able to spend less money on without people noticing.
The main thing is to figure out what's most important to you.
For some girls, the most important thing is the dress. And I understand that your wedding is one of the most important days of your life, and you want to feel more beautiful than ever. But other girls may see the dress as something they will only wear one day, and it's not as much of a priority for them.
Other girls may think that flowers are one of the most important things and spend a ton of money on them. However, other brides may think they can just as easily create pretty centerpieces with candles or other crafty ideas they get from Pinterest.
For me, I have realized that the entertainment and the food are the most important things on my list. In order to fully enjoy myself at my wedding I want to know that all of my guests are enjoying themselves as well. I think it’s very important to find music to suit a crowd of all ages so everyone has a chance to dance. I also want to make sure that the food is up to par and satisfying. I would hate for anyone to go home hungry or not pleased with what they ate.
I have found that two of the things I remember most about weddings are the music and food, so those will be my top priorities. However, everyone is different so it’s important for future brides and grooms to determine what means the most to them on their day.Copyright © 2014, The Baltimore Sun
