Don't forget wedding details like hotels and transportation

An important detail, yet less sexy, for wedding planning is the hotel situation and transportation. This especially comes into play when your venue is far away from most of your guests. For example, most of our guests are coming from Baltimore and Harford counties, but our venue is in Frederick, which is about a 45-minute to an hour drive. Granted it's a beautiful, country drive and there shouldn't be any traffic on a Saturday afternoon/evening, but it's still a lot to ask of people

It’s pretty common for couples to arrange for hotel rooms for the bridal party, family, out of town guests and those who want to make an entire night of it. Our wedding will be no different. We’ve booked a large block of rooms at a nearby hotel. In choosing this hotel we considered location, brand (you know that’s important to me), customer service, cleanliness (we made visits) and rates. As always, I had a checklist and when an option didn't meet all the requirements they were out. What can I say? I’m one tough cookie!

Now originally I didn’t want to do any type of transportation, especially not a limo. It’s just not my style, and I wouldn’t really feel comfortable. But in considering the number of people planning to stay over night, remembering that we all need to get to the venue somehow and in wanting everyone to be safe, while still having fun, we decided to rent a party bus. The bus will take the bridal party and groomsmen to the venue, separately, and also pick up all guests at the hotel and drop them off at the venue. The bus will also come back to get everyone at the end of the night. It’s the perfect solution for convenience and allowing everyone to have a blast without driving after.

The best part of it all is both the hotel and bus provided very reasonable rates so we don’t break the bank or make it hard for our guests to take part.

So if you live in or around Frederick and see a white party bus riding around on May 25,  be sure to throw us a wave!
