Find true love at Camp Bow Wow's Cupids and Canines event

Looking for that perfect Valentine? Or maybe you and your true four-legged love are looking to share the snuggles this year. Either way, Columbia’s Camp Bow Wow is gearing up for its fifth annual Cupids and Canines event to be held Feb. 9 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Enchanted Forest Shopping Center, Ellicott City.

More than a dozen animal-rescue organizations from the mid-Atlantic region will be on-site that day to help match up orphaned dogs with their human soulmates and send them to their forever homes. Silent auctions, including one from Wagging Tail Portraits of a 16 x 16-inch portrait, will be held all day, with proceeds benefiting the participating rescue groups and Camp Bob Wow’s Bow Wow Buddies Foundation.

All the dogs hope you’ll come out and party with them, and ask that you please bring new cat or dog food for their Hurricane Sandy Relief Drive -- it will go to the Southern Ocean County Animal Shelter in New Jersey. They’ll also collect new or gently-used blankets, dog sweaters, bedding, toys, bowls, leashes, collars and toys for dogs and cats displaced by last fall’s storm.

The rain/snow date for this event is Feb. 16. The Enchanted Forest Shopping Center is located at 10010 Baltimore National Pike, Ellicott City.
