Snickers( Christopher T. Assaf, Baltimore Sun photo / April 8, 2014 )
Treasure Kinsler, 18, holds Snickers as he poses with her and sister Trinity, 12.
The thing to know about Snickers, first and foremost, is that he's an accomplished escape artist. Tiffany Kinsler doesn't know when or how her 3-year-old shih tzu-bichon frise mix gets out of his crate, but nothing she's done so far can keep him in there.
"I was looking for a highly energetic pup," she says. "Snickers was the one for me. He's highly energetic and eager to please."
He started escaping from his crate when Kinsler was away for the day -- a dog sitter who came by found Snickers loose in the house. Kinsler thought the crate must not have been closed properly and took extra care the next day to latch it, but her pup got out that day, too ... and many days after that.
Snickers enjoyed a party earlier this year, complete with doggie friends and cake at the Ma & Pa Dog Park in Abingdon, and he is dressed up and taken to all sorts of family events. He loves sleeping with his people and playing with stuffed animals.
