The Baltimore Animal Rescue and Care Shelter is waiving adoption fees through Friday to free up space to rescue more cats and dogs.
The no-kill shelter at 301 Stockholm St. posted a big red box on its Facebook page reading “ALERT OUT OF SPACE” in big white letters to emphasize the urgency of the agency’s appeal.
“BARCS is out of space,” the caption reads.
“We are waiving adoption fees for all animals in the shelter in order to make room for new animals that need to seek refuge at our facility. BARCS is the open-admission shelter for Baltimore City, we cannot turn new animals away, even if our cages are full. “
The plea asked readers to share the post and tag any friends who might be interested in adopting a companion animal.
“Help us clear our cages,” the post concludes. “We can do it, Baltimore!”
