Summer fairs in Maryland [Pictures]
Outside of driving to the ocean or watching the Orioles, there's no activity that says summer in Maryland more distinctly than going to a carnival or fair.
"They all have their own flavor or spice to them," says Andy Cashman, assistant general manager of the Maryland State Fair in Timonium. "It's the biggest family event in the county or area. ... If you've been going to the fair since you've been a little boy, there are things that you want to run to and see right away. But there's always something new and exciting, too."
Here are a few fairs that should ensure that the remaining weeks remain festive.
