A new cookbook developed with local chef Connie Crabtree-Burritt shares more than 200 recipes the whole family can enjoy, and should spark some interesting conversations as well.

In addition to food, “BOS Cooks” features stories from Baltimore Outreach Services’ decade of working with homeless children and women, and the recipes are accompanied by work from nine local artists.

“Through this cookbook, people will be able to not only enjoy family-focused recipes,” Crabtree-Burritt said, “but learn about the heart-warming stories from the shelter.”

Crabtree-Burritt started her career in the early 1970s as a chef and partner of Cacao Lane in Ellicott City, and she helped develop several Baltimore landmarks, including the Owl Bar at the Belvedere Hotel, Catering by Crabtree and Pier 500 Restaurant in the Inner Harbor.

The cookbook is available at the following locations: American Visionary Art Museum, Graul’s Market in Ruxton, Holiday Inn Inner Harbor, The Ivy Bookshop, McCormick World of Flavors at Harborplace, Crystal Moll Gallery and the Royal Sonesta Baltimore.
