BIRTHDAY GUY: Actor James Franco was born in Palo Alto, Calif., today in 1978. This birthday guy earned an Oscar nomination for his work in the 2010 film "127 Hours." Franco also earned a 2001 Emmy nomination for his portrayal of the title character in the TV movie "James Dean." Franco played Harry Osborn in all three "Spider-Man" movies and he starred on the short-lived TV series "Freaks And Geeks."
ARIES (March 21-April 19): The first step is the hardest. Minor setbacks may deter you. You may feel lethargic and sluggish but just making the slightest effort towards moving forward will go a long way towards improving your overall outlook.
TAURUS (April 20-May 20): Be the ray of sunshine that brightens everyone's day. Not everyone is in the best of moods today, but a warm smile and friendly demeanor will melt the ice and make your world a little more pleasant.
GEMINI (May 21-June 20): Unless there is a big red "S" on your chest, you are not a superhero and it is not your responsibility to solve the world's problems. Stay out of other people's troubles unless help is specifically requested.
CANCER (June 21-July 22): You can't have your cake and eat it, too. Conditions beyond your control may have you feeling helpless and underappreciated. Find other matters to occupy your attention and by evening the original matter will be forgotten.
LEO (July 23-Aug. 22): If the choices are fight or flight, choose flight. Arguing with someone who refuses to see your side is pointless, as well as infuriating. You'll go much further by being a team player than looking out for No. 1.
VIRGO (Aug. 23-Sept. 22): You've achieved status through hard work and a good track record, not by giving in to trivial challenges and gimmicks. Don't lower yourself to treating your position as a competition or you are destined to lose.
LIBRA (Sept. 23-Oct. 22): Stay in the middle of the road. Don't take sides or get involved in the squabbles of others. Keep your mind focused on your own tasks and stay out of potential trouble. Take time out to spend with a lover or close friends.
SCORPIO (Oct. 23-Nov. 21): Be on your best behavior to lure potential mates into your web of romance. You won't meet anyone by sitting around the house or wallowing online, so get out and about for the best results.
SAGITTARIUS (Nov. 22-Dec. 21): If you play with the bull you get the horn. Don't let a few successes go to your head. No matter how good you are, there's always someone better, so keep your feet on the ground and ego in check.
CAPRICORN (Dec. 22-Jan. 19): Great things come from the most modest beginnings. A mighty oak grows from an acorn, and resounding success comes from a mere idea. Brainstorm and draw up a blueprint for your future happiness.
AQUARIUS (Jan. 20-Feb. 18): Sometimes, the best place to be is wherever you're at. You exude charm and people want to be around you today. Play it cool and don't press a touchy issue or your followers may leave you flat.
PISCES (Feb. 19-March 20): Don't sweat the small stuff. You can confidently ignore minor squabbles and problems that have no bearing on you or your current objective. Focus on finance and getting the most bangs for your buck.
IF APRIL 19 IS YOUR BIRTHDAY: When opportunity knocks in the next six to eight weeks, be sure to open the door. Whatever is good for you should grab your attention while whatever is bad for you will seem less attractive. You can obtain wise counsel from professionals and successfully initiate anything that has lasting significance, like a new job or relationship. Between now and early July, you can excel at anything that requires sympathy or imagination, or simply put a new health regimen into motion that offers lasting benefits. Avoid the pursuit of romantic dreams or far-fetched fantasies in October when your accuracy and evaluations of people and situations could be out of kilter.
