Justin Nozuka still finds sanctuary in his family home

Walk into this Colonial in Toronto's Bloor West Village neighborhood, go past the brown upright piano, up the stairs and somewhere in between Bedroom No. 1 and Bedroom No. 8, you'll find singer/songwriter Justin Nozuka's sanctuary.

Bryan Batt is a 'Mad Man' with a grounded perspective on home

On AMC's "Mad Men," Salvatore Romano is the art director with barely suppressed homosexual longings. As played by actor Bryan Batt, the character is the epitome of the suave New York ad man, circa 1960. And in real life, Batt is indeed a New York resident, at least part-time. But his heart belongs to New Orleans, the city where he was raised and currently makes his home with his partner of 18 years, Tom Cianfichi.

It's home. It's the office. It's Perez's world.

It should probably come as no surprise that Perez Hilton, celebrity blogger and self-declared "Queen of All Media," runs his one-man pop culture empire from a loft in his two-bedroom, two-bathroom apartment in the Miracle Mile section of Los Angeles.

For Jaclyn Smith, home is a passion

Despite the many framed photos of Kelly, Sabrina and Jill, this is not the home of some "Charlie's Angels"-obsessed fan. This is the house of a real angel from the original '70s television show: It's Kelly's, uh, we mean, Jaclyn Smith's house.

New house, new pup for 'Marley' author

Excuse us for a moment. We're on hold while John Grogan runs down to the basement. Duty is calling. In this case, "duty" is Woodson, the "Marley & Me" author's newest four-legged family member. For some reason, the 9-month-old, housebroken yellow Lab has run downstairs, having confused the basement for his own personal restroom.

Crouching tiger, hidden baseball cards: Inside Brett Dennen's world

He's the kind of songwriter who crafts a lyric with poetry and precision, finding words with the perfect meanings and sounds to convey a feeling, a thought. To move you. The kind of songwriter who, when talking about the weather in his hometown in Northern California, describes the summers as not simply hot—but "putridly hot."

Actor Jeffrey Donovan

On the USA television series "Burn Notice," he plays a do-it-yourself ex-spy. That same DIY mentality follows actor Jeffrey Donovan in his own life. Reached by e-mail, he told me that he loved to plan out and "actually do my own renovations. I designed and built a 100-foot split-cedar rail fence to enclose my property. It was one of the hardest things I've ever done. Don't recommend doing it alone. I also built a 100-square-foot back porch. Again, don't recommend doing it alone."

Comedian Jeffrey Ross keeps 'Vacancy' sign out for his stand-up pals

That eye patch was no costume gimmick when comedian Jeffrey Ross appeared on the most recent version of "Dancing with the Stars." Apparently ballroom dancing is dangerous. "I got a scratched cornea," he told me recently by phone from New York City, where he lives in a Greenwich Village co-op. "I'm OK. My lovely partner, she accidentally poked me with her long daggerish fingernail."

'SNL' alum Kevin Nealon ready to hit the 'Delete' button on his L.A. home

During his nearly 10-year stretch on " Saturday Night Live," Kevin Nealon created a recurring character known as Subliminal Man. Nowadays, the 54-year-old is probably better known as Doug Wilson, the pot-smoking embezzler on "Weeds" whose creatively offensive dialogue is delivered with an amiable lack of self-awareness. In short, the anti-subliminal man.

Singer Joe Purdy gives a glimpse inside his life at home

A walk (virtual or otherwise) into someone's home can be oh-so revealing. Our virtual walk into singer Joe Purdy's modern farmhouse in northwest Arkansas (taken via e-mail) certainly told us something very key about him. The man is a closet metrosexual? A lover of modern art? A (gasp!) pack rat?

Inside Dwayne Kennedy's castle of clutter

Long before (and long after) Midcentury Modernism, there was Early Clutter — the design style long-neglected by the chi-chi glossies, whose editors seem to turn up their noses at the mounds of inky newspapers typical of the Early Clutter room.

Whether it's the crusty elder statesmen on TNT's "The Closer" or the cranky police captain in the "Police Academy" franchise, G.W. Bailey has played countless variations on the sourpuss. And so the obvious question: Is he as crusty as the men he portrays?

Four years ago, the world was grossed out by the binge-fest experiment, "Super Size Me," in which filmmaker Morgan Spurlock consumed McDonald's food for an entire month to gauge the health impact of a fast-food diet. His girlfriend at the time (who he subsequently married) could only look on with disgust and concern.
