Federal Hill rowhouse has downtown views, historic charm

The renovated rowhouse at 114 Warren Ave. in Federal Hill combines the best elements of city living, from its views to its desirable location. This three-story brick home, built in 1900, is listed at $875,000.

The interior is spacious, measuring more than 3,000 square feet. But perhaps more impressive is what's outside: a a 40-by-15-foot rooftop deck that provides a breathtaking view of the city skyline.

At ground level, five steps open onto an entry vestibule with paneled wainscoting, crown molding, a domed ceiling light and marble floor. Wide-plank maple floors are found throughout the rest of the interior. Decorative fireplaces embellish the living and dining room, which are divided by columns original to the house. A hallway leads to a custom-designed kitchen with an exposed brick wall, cherry cabinets, granite countertops and stainless appliances. A side door opens to a courtyard.

A two-story family room features a brick fireplace, built-in bookcases and sliding doors to a fenced-in terrace. A 20-by-14-foot game room is in a loft above. A master bedroom at the front of the house showcases a tray ceiling and bathroom with a two-person tub. There are two more bedrooms on the third floor, each with a walk-in closet and recessed lighting. One bedroom opens to a metal balcony.

Four full two half-bathrooms are located throughout the home. The lower level has a large suite with a fully functional kitchen — perfect for relatives or nannies. A laundry room and a 17-by-10-foot storage room are also on this level.

For security, the house has been outfitted with an alarm system and intercom.

The house has been on the market for just under two weeks, and listing agent Cindy Conklin says "the feedback has been awesome."
