Advances in weather-resistant outdoor furniture have created options for seating, chairs and more. "No longer are we left with so few choices for patios that are pretty exposed to the elements all the time," said Steve Appel, owner of Nouveau Contemporary Goods / Whitehead & Appel Interior Design. "We used to have to rely on the typical sling material that one often sees on outdoor furniture. The plus was it dries fast but it was never that comfortable." Instead, new technology has created outdoor fabrics that can stand the heat - and complement any design style. "The days of having cushioned furniture outdoors that needed to be stowed away when not in use are over," Appel said.
