Midcentury modern furniture and accessories date from about 1933 to 1965. The furniture is noted for its simplicity, clean lines and bold-colored fabrics. Danish designers were especially influential during the period. Although many of Home Anthology's customers decorate their entire homes in midcentury modern, the style blends well with other designs, Nini Sarmiento says. If you just want a touch of midcentury modern, try adding:

•A molded fiberglass chair

•Glass-and-chrome end tables

•A teak sideboard, table or cabinet

•Chrome lamps

•A sunburst wall clock
