This transplanted New York artist is known for her cheeky colorful work, whether it be in the form of a painting, print, three-dimensional wall art, or sculpture. Her studio/store also offers a few other lines of colorful home accessories, like the Catstudio line of state-themed embroidered pillows and linens and Kit Kat clocks that are still made in the style they were in the 1930's.
For the last two years, Metz has been working on a series of paintings of television and movie western heroes and their horses. This 36-by-48-inch original acrylic on canvas is of Roy Rogers and Trigger ($6,000). Signed prints of this are also available in a number of sizes ($500 and up).
Madeline Metz Studios is in the Spinning Building at Historic Savage Mill. Call 239-272-2701CQ or go to madelinemetz.com.
