Rihanna, ever the trailblazing trendsetter, has gotten a bit frosty. And a lot silver foxy.
The "Diamonds" singer has dyed her bleach blond locks back to black and accented the tips of her strands with an icy shade of gray. All at the tender age of 25.
"Grey is the new black! Blondies, it's quiet for y'all! #brrr," she added.
Since Wednesday the singer has cheerfully posted six selfies of her new look with varying dotes of outlandish approval on each one. Celebutante-turned-fashion-designer Nicole Richie similarly donned a silvery coif at this year's Met gala and "Fashion Police" host Kelly Osbourne also went gray young. Halle Berry too made her locks age prematurely, you know, in character as the "X-Men" mutant Storm.
Well, at least RiRi didn't dye her roots. And the color does match the new diamond grill she debuted on her lower bite earlier this week. By the way, that grill (and Beyonce's latest gold iteration) have merited one of the rare but plausible occasions for this newspaper's blog to invoke the colloquial term "ratchet."
It's unclear if the salt-and-pepper effect has anything to do with this launch, though she did have this hashtag to offer in one of her new selfies "#sneekpeekofmynextMACproject."
What do you think of Rihanna's voluntary gray? Sound off in comments.
