Handbag designer Danielle DiFerdinando at Macy's

Handbag designer and Ellicott City native Danielle DiFerdinando will make appearances at Macy's locations in White Marsh and Towson Town Center on Saturday to introduce her Danielle Nicole Summer 2013 collection. The visit will also mark the launch of her line at both locations.

"I can't wait to meet with all the customers," she said. "It will be more of a meet-and-greet. It will be fun."

DiFerdinando's Danielle Nicole bags have been stocked in stores like Bergdorf Goodman and carried by celebrities including Rachel Zoe and Anna Dello Russo. Oprah Winfrey purchased 5,500 of her bags in 2011.

DiFerdinando appeared on the Home Shopping Network in April and was in London in June, where she appeared on QVC. That month, she also went to China to work on her spring 2014 collection. She's also been working to maintain her growing social media presence.

"It allows me to get feedback that I can take back to the design board," she said of her Facebook, Twitter and Instagram presence. "My customer is loving modern, contemporary handbags for less than $100. It's a lifestyle. She feels that she is part of the brand. I want her to feel that way."

DiFerdinando plans to visit fashion shows in Paris this September. She's also scheduled to make another appearance on the Home Shopping Network on Aug. 28 at 6 a.m. and 1 p.m.

Meet Danielle DiFerdinando at Macy's at White Marsh Mall from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Saturday and at Towson Town Center Mall from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday.
