Charm bracelets at Bijoux
A charm bracelet is the way to go this Valentine's Day, according to Renee Wilson, owner of Bijoux Inspired Jewels. The jewelry has a long history. Thousands of years ago, charms were worn as symbols of faith and luck in ancient Egypt. They were also worn centuries later by Medieval knights for protection. Queen Victoria started a fashion trend among European elite in the late 19th century. In the 1950s and 1960s teenagers collected charms as a way of recording life events, Wilson explains. Her boutique's collection of charms ranges from Victorian to contemporary. Popular pieces includes: a 14kt gold gemstone piano, a diamond-studded high heel, a spinning Ferris wheel and a convertible car with rolling wheels. The charms start at $25 in sterling silver and $80 for gold charms.
