The region's fashion industry converged on the Brown Center at MICA for an evening to honor its top stars. In its second year, Fashion Awards Maryland has attracted a considerable following. More than 14,000 votes were cast for this year's winners, according to founder and producer of the awards, Lana Rae.
"This event is about our fashion industry," said Rae, who is also the head of KIS Agency. "It is about uplifting and supporting each other and showcasing the talents of our fashion industry."
Hosted by Lianca Lyons and Johnny Anastacio, stars of Style Network's "Kimora: House of Fab," the show included a mix of fashion shows, musical entertainment and the presentation of the awards. Twenty categories were presented for everything from boutique of the year, which went to The Dollhouse in Mount Vernon, to fashion photographer, which went to Baltimore's Roy Cox.
