Not only are the clothes designed by Chris Benz, 29, all about style, so is the man himself. In Baltimore to host a trunk show and cocktail party at Ruth Shaw, the New York-based designer described his personal style as "a combination of preppy and grunge." Proving the preppy side was one of trademarks (the other is his pink hair): a navy Brooks Brother's children's blazer. "I wear these every day. I feel like you can go from morning to evening in them." Under the blazer, his white cotton button-down shirt from J. Crew, which he wore with a certain "grunge" influence. "I grew up in Seattle, so I feel I always have to have something a little undone about my look, like an untucked shirt." His black tie also came from J. Crew. The black and gray wide-wale corduroy Marni pants were a gift. Benz picked up his black Nike sneakers in Charleston, and his Bold watch was a gift from Movado after he designed a collection for the company. The sandalwood and diamond bead strand and onyx and diamond bead strand -- both which could be worn as necklaces, or wrapped around the wrist as Benz had done -- were a collaboration with the jewelry brand The Woods for his Resort 2012 collection.
