Books for the under-15 set: Justin Bieber, Stephen Colbert and Mark Kelly

A flurry of new children's books is headed for the shelves, and the authors carry some very familiar names, including Stephen Colbert. A look at the future:

-- Colbert's book, "I Am a Pole (And So Can You!)" is scheduled for a May 8 release, according to USA Today. The article notes that the tale, mentioned in his January interview with author Maurice Sendak, became an Internet sensation. "It's been a lifelong dream of mine to write a children's book. I hope the minutes you and your loved ones spend reading it are as fulfilling as the minutes I spent writing it," Colbert said in a statement.

-- Astronaut Mark Kelly, the husband of former Rep. Gabrielle Giffords of Arizona, has authored  a picture book called "Mousetronaut: A Partially True Story." It's due out Oct. 9, according to a news release from publisher Paula Wiseman Books. Kelly was a captain in the United States Navy when he commanded the final mission of space shuttle Endeavour in 2011, the statement noted. He and his wife co-authored -- with the help of the late Jeffrey Zaslow -- "Gabby: A Story of Courage and Hope."

-- OK, this really isn't a kids' book, but it sure is being marketed to the younger set: HarperCollins announced today that it would publish another Justin Bieber photo book. "Justin Bieber: Just Getting Started," is scheduled for a September release. The publisher notes that his debut effort, "First Step 2 Forever: My Story," has sold more than a million copies worldwide.
