Given all the churn in media these days, it is hard to believe that Denise Koch has been a fixture at the WJZ-TV anchor desk for some 30 years. And she is doing her best work ever. During the unrest in the wake of the death of Freddie Gray in 2015, she was the voice of steady, down-the-middle, responsible coverage. More than anyone else, she made Baltimore TV look good during the unrest and subsequent trials of police officers the past two years.
