( Karl Merton Ferron / August 17, 2012 ) Marvin Cabrera with the Baltimore City Department of Transportation installs an LED lamp as the truck slowly makes its way on the Howard Street Bridge, replacing sodium vapor street lamps with lower-profile, higher-efficiency LED street lamps Wednesday. The crew says that Baltimore is phasing out the orange-colored sodium vapor lamps (seen in foreground) throughout the city. |
