The Rise of Charm City podcast returns for a second season

The Rise of Charm City podcast returns for a second season, featuring a two-part series on Morgan State.

The Rise of Charm City podcast, launched last year by freelance writer and radio producer Stacia Brown, has returned for another season of revisiting Baltimore's most revered places and landmarks.

Season 2 began this month with a two-part series on the past 150 years of Maryland's largest and oldest historically black university — Morgan State University.

The podcast, which airs at 11:30 a.m. every other Friday during "The Marc Steiner Show" on WEAA 88.9 FM, features current and former Morgan State employees and graduates in its latest episodes, including university Board of Regents chairman and former Maryland Rep. Kweisi Mfume and White House correspondent April Ryan.

Ryan, who has covered the White House for just over 20 years, credits the WEAA station, which is hosted at the university, for helping launch her career.
